چکیده
After Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD), the strength of Armco iron sharply increases with number Equal-Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) passes. So, ultimate tensile stress (UTS) reached up to 800 MPa after eight passes, reflecting an increment around four times than as-received material strength. The original grain size annealed about 70 ?m also experimented drastic changes ECAP, reaching sizes approaching 300 nm. Samples were then welded by Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) process varying voltage and current conditions. Metallographic analysis Light Optical Microscopy (LOM) Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD), was carried out analyze weld penetration, Fusion Zone (FZ), microstructure morphology across Heat Affected (HAZ). Special attention given nanostructured base metal. A microstructural gradient observed throughout joint hardness reduction concerning but still superior without ECAP. temperature heterogeneity gave rise different morphologies like Widmanstätten ferrite FZ, especially at high heat inputs.

Size effect in equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) process
The influence of the sample size (diameter while keeping the length constant) in equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) of pure aluminum is examined using finite element method (FEM) and experiment. Different sized aluminum rods were processed via ECAP and the effect of sample size on the strain homogeneity, process load, and the ratio of the friction to the total force were evaluated. The resul...
متن کاملTen years of severe plastic deformation (SPD) in Iran, part I: equal channel angular pressing (ECAP)
The superior properties of ultrafine-grained materials fabricated by severe plastic deformation (SPD) have attracted the attention of many researchers around the world. Among the top-ranked countries that are active in this field, Iran is interesting because of the late beginnings of SPD in this country and, subsequently, the highest rate of growth in the number of publications during the last...
متن کاملCladding of stellite composite on carbon steel by gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)
This paper deals with the investigation of the microstructure and hardness of steel samples cladded with satellite 6-WC composites by using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process. For this purpose, steel samples were coated with unreinforced and reinforced stellite (by 20, 30 and 40 wt.% WC). The cladded samples were evaluated by metallographic studies, microhardness measurement and X-ray diff...
متن کاملGas tungsten arc welding
Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, is an arc welding process that uses a nonconsumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld. The weld area is protected from atmospheric contamination by a shielding gas (usually an inert gas such as argon), and a filler metal is normally used, though some welds, known as autogenous welds, do not require it. A const...
متن کاملMicrostructure Evolution in High Purity Aluminum Single Crystal Processed by Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP)
Aluminum single crystal with 99.999% purity was deformed at room temperature by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) up to 16 passes. Grain size and misorientation of processed samples were quantitatively characterized by TEM and EBSD. The results show that the refinement efficiency of high purity aluminum single crystal was poor in the initial stage. Extrusion by fewer ECAP passes (n ≤ 8) res...
